Makes 1 cocktail
Some Manhattan recipes call for rye whisky, but I prefer the caramel flavor and color of bourbon. The classic garnish for this is a maraschino cherry, but for a new twist, you could use a fresh cherry that’s been soaked in Cherry Syrup.
- 2 ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce sweet vermouth
- Dash of Angostura bitters
- Maraschino cherry, for garnish
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail mixing glass filled with ice and stir. Strain into an “up” or martini glass (also called a cocktail glass). Garnish with a maraschino cherry.
