decadent chocolate parfaits
These frozen parfaits will delight chocolate lovers of all ages.
- 3 thick slices chocolate pound cake
- 1⁄2 cup chocolate milk
- 1⁄2 cup white-chocolate chips
- 1 pint chocolate ice cream, slightly softened
- 1 cup chopped chocolate candy bars (Snickers, Twix, or your slightly crunchy favorite)
Cut the pound cake into half-inch cubes and place in a mixing bowl. Pour the chocolate milk over the cake, and toss. Arrange small cups or shot glasses in a row on a tray or counter, and build your parfaits: Sprinkle a few white-chocolate chips in the bottom of each cup, followed by a small scoop of the softened ice cream. Add a sprinkle of the chopped candy bars, then a small spoonful of the milk-soaked cake. Repeat the process to create a second layer, and finish with a sprinkle of the chopped candy bars for garnish.
Cover tightly and freeze. Remove from freezer a few minutes before needed to allow ingredients to soften slightly.
